Weekly Update Part 2
Sep. 30th, 2012 12:51 amLander is especially odiferous tonight. Turns out, the sewage ponds are expelling an extrordinary amount of gas because of a combination of the temperature dropping and the drought.
It's pretty gross.
Watched Doctor Who tonight on BBC America. I like supporting the show here, but I'm going to download and watch the rest of the season instead, I think, when it comes on again at Christmas. For one thing, we do not get BBA America in high-def, which makes a HUGE difference. And secondly, there are so many damn commercials! Just as soon as I start getting immersed in the story, bam- commercial time! And I'm yanked right back out again.
I may reconsider and still watch them when they air, because they do show little behind-the-scene clips during the comercial breaks sometimes, and BBC America has really worked overtime to make various specials as well, like tonight's 'Doctor Who in U.S.' that had so many people in an uproar over at YouTube.
I mean, honestly- we Americans revel in Doctor Who because of its Britishness, not because we want to take it over and make it ours!
Fandom.
I managed about 4 hours of sleep Saturday morning. Woke up at 11 a.m., and simply could not fall asleep again. After lying there for an hour, I decided it was pointless and got up. I then went out and continued working on the skirting of the house. I made a lot of progress, but I still have a ways to go, too. At 5:30, I cleaned up and got ready for an evening of Doctor Who. "Angels in Manahattan" was good, but I have a few questions that I hope can be answered by other people more astute than I. I'm not going to say anything yet, because I don't want to spoil it for anyone.
I slept with my CPAP on. I'm still adjusting to it, of course, but a softer pillow did help a lot.

Jinx, claiming the entire bed for himself, did not help matters.
My machine is a Phillips Respironics REMstar Auto A-Flex System One.
I have the FullLife mask. Aside from the bulkiness, it's not bothering me too badly. The bridge of my nose gets sore during the night, and the seal breaks fairly easily, but maybe as I adjust to wearing it, I won't move around as much.

My, aren't WE fierce?
Andy keeps calling me Bane. I keep telling him to shut up.
Ok, I'm working on a column and it needs the finishing touches on the first draft before I put it away for the night. Tomorrow will be a busy day!

Date: 2012-10-02 09:04 pm (UTC)If you get a couple of days' ratty sleep, clean the thing. It's easy to overlook, but it makes an enormous difference.
So pleased you have the proper equipment at last! :D
