The incision
Jan. 13th, 2008 12:11 amThis picture was taken two days after the surgery. I stopped putting bandages on because the tape was really irritating my skin. That's a quarter stuck to my skin for scale.
There are four stitches, and yes, I really am that hairless and pasty. Except on my arms, where I seem to have huge amounts of hair growing in the areas most likely to be taped to for an IV.

Date: 2008-01-13 09:24 am (UTC)The anesthesiologist did come by before the surgery, but never said it was going to be general anesthesia- I'm betting he thought I'd already been told, and for all I knew, even if it was a local anesthesia, it would be administered by a separate doctor. He did ask questions about loose teeth, any metal in the body, if i had eaten anything, but i wasn't given a chance to ask questions, and i don't recall him asking me about breathing problems, although he very well may have.
Like I said, next time, I'll ask more questions.
When I woke up, that's the first I knew that I was being put out, lol. When I'd had surgery back in 1990 on my knee, the anesthesiologist warned me I would taste garlic, and had me count back from 10 as he administered the anesthesia. There was none of that this time around.
