Weekly update
Sep. 9th, 2012 01:34 amI used to spend so much time on LiveJournal. I feel a little sad sometimes when I come back, because of the guilt of ignoring.
Anyway!
Last weekend, I managed to get three days off. It was glorious! I got so much work done. I scrubbed the kitchen floors, cleaned the cabinet knobs, cleaned the cabinet doors, got all of my stuff off the kitchen floor where it has been living in a pile for months, did laundry, mopped my bedroom floor, and just so many other little things that had been building up. It was so nice. I even managed to sleep in a day or two, and got to return to Dragon Age and continue my game from months and months ago.
I need to do that more often.

I got Ike completely settled in beside mom's photo, as well.
I didn't find time to work on the bathroom, sadly- there's only so much I can cram into three days.
The rest of the week was uneventful, really. I was extremely busy at both jobs - at the newspaper, a special insert edition had to be done on thursday. I pulled it off with time to spare, of course. All the while dealing with a crisis at the hotel where the same credit card batch settled twice, leading to numerous double charges and lots of angry guests and a lot of work sorting it all out. It's not done yet, sadly- hopefully, by the end of day Monday everyone who needs a refund will have gotten a refund. It would be a simple matter, except that in our software it only shows one charge, so I can't simply reverse a charge and give people back their money. How I wish I could.

The cover I designed. I'm quite pleased with it this year; one of my best!
Andy still keeps believing that we will have moved by the end of the year. I simply don't see that happening.
My father is in the hospital again. Because he lays down so often, he has fluid built up in his lungs. The are going to insert a needle on Monday and drain it out (ewwww and ouch.)
At my recent eye exam, I found out that for the first time since I started wearing corrective lenses at the age of seven, my prescription has not changed since the previous year.
Also, thanks to
dreamer_easy, I finally looked up Gangnam Style, and I'm hooked. I don't think I'll be diving into the rabbit hole of K-Pop any time soon, but I like this song, at least.
To me, there is a sense of sexual abiguity about the entire video. For all the attractive people he is hanging out with and dancing with, I don't get the feeling that there is sexual tension between any of them. More like it's the highest part of the birthday party and everyone has crowded into the bouncy castle and bodies are flying wherever they may.
Eh, I'm tired. Gonna write this off and read some New Mutants. Nite all.
