outsdrMy sister called me, and she clarified a few things for me. It seems that if my mother chooses to continue on just the steroid treatment and no radiation treatments, she could have as long as four months. Of those four months, it could be four to eight weeks before her mind completely goes, and eventually coma then death.
If she does the radiation treatment, it would be three weeks of five treatments a week (or was it five weeks of three treatments a week?) which could then give her eight to sixteen weeks before her mind goes, etc.
I still don't know which one I prefer her to choose. While I want her around as long as possible, of course, I don't know if I want her to put herself through the trauma of the treatments; no one is sure if her body could even handle it.
Regardless, I'll be returning to see her as soon as I can, most likely a week from today.
