Sep. 9th, 2008 08:47 amI am not making progress adjusting to the glasses. I can focus on everything sort of well, but nothing very well. Friday night at the hotel I tried to read a license plate in the parking lot, and I had to get within 10 feet before I could make out any numbers. I can't read road signs until I'm right on top of them. The barber on the corner waved to me as I was going into my office, and I only recognized him from his shape.
I can live with the nausea, I suppose, but the worst thing for me is how my vision is warped. I look at a top of my computer, and I know that it's a straight line, but it looks like it arches upwards by half an inch. Doing graphic design when I can't see straight lines? Not so much fun. I'm already color blind; I don't need to add spatial warp.
Buddy managed to get out of the house last night, just as we were about to leave for the evening, and he ran under the shed. When we got back four hours later, he was playing in the yard. We had kept Jinx in the house, so they wouldn't try to run each other off.
Now, Buddy wants OUT. Last night, he kept climbing the screen on the window in my bedroom. While I was sleeping. He'd get to the top, and jump off. This morning he was pawing at the front door. So, I think for my sanity I'm going to have to start letting the cats in and out in shifts.
