Buddy is still at the vet, and is NOT enjoying his stay. My vet is going to have to gas him to take blood from him- he's hissing and screaming at everyone. Except her husband- she thinks the cat just likes guys.

(Insert joke here)

Anyway, she couldn't gas him today to take blood from him, because after not eating or drinking the entire time he's been there, when the vet went to give him a dose of happy gas with her husband's help, Buddy looked at her husband and then calmly ate a few bites of food.

So, tomorrow, Jinx is going to the vet for Feline Leukemia tests and innoculation, since we somehow neglected to have that done before. He's also getting his K.I.V. shots. Same tests for Buddy at the same time, and then they'll both be coming home.

That will be interesting. Jinx spends a lot of time outside. I'm worried that with a second cat, Jinx will stop coming back inside at all, which is not what I want. Hoepfully, they'll both get along great. But how often does that sort of thing happen between two ex-tomcats, even if one of them does like guys?

So, I'm going to keep this short, because it hurts to type.

The hand specialist (Who looks remarkably like my grandfather, a dairy farmer. Think of a big kindly burly dairy farmer out of All Creatures Great and Small, but wearing scrubs, and that's my specialist) isn't 100% sure that I have carpal tunnel. He is, however, 100% sure that something is wrong, and it is most likely carpal tunnel. I've had the conduction tests, and while the normal set of tests showed nothing abnormal, these results led to further tests which did show nerve abnormalities.

He gave me the option of continuing with the treatments I have been (splints, wraps, anti-inflammatories, and a not of muddled curses when I type completely incoherently, drop things at random, or suddenly feel like needles are being shoved down between my fingers) or have surgery done.

On 9/11, I'm having the surgery done on my right hand. Later, I'll get it done on my left hand. I can't have both at once, because as great as my roommate is, I don't think he wants to wipe my bum for me.
