The latest Nine Inch Nails album is available for free at the website.

It's ... not great, so far, but I like what Trent is trying to do and I'll probably get one of the pay versions to support him.

Sorry for my lack of posts; my dog's been in the hospital (Details at my LJ). Here's two more Dessert Spectaculars, as well as the steps I take when scanning.

Scanning:

I make the initial scan at 300 dpi, then bring the image in to Photoshop. I crop the image and reduce the dpi to 150; this usually eliminates most of the dot pattern. Then, I do an auto-levels adjustment (If it looks worse, I undo it!) and then save it as a JPG with level 10 compression (high quality).

Nothing super-secret there! The 50% dpi reduction is probably the biggest step to making images look better.

He's on a special diet for awhile now, and antibiotics still, but he's definitely happy to be home and is doing well. I can tell by the way he's lying in his bed, cleaning his bum with gusto.  Using his tongue, of course.

He has a protozoa infection, and most likely that combined with the rawhide moving through him triggered the pancreatitus and intestinal inflammation. All three vets who worked on him agree that it probably all stems from the rawhide chew bones. So, no more of those. Ever.

Guess what the first thing was that he dug out of the snow when he got home?

Luckily, it was one he had before all this started, but it still went in the trash.

I swung by to see my vet one the way home. She almost seemed unhappy to see me, and was really apologetic that she had needed to send me to a different vet hospital. I told her that as far as I was concerned, she was still my vet; she had just had a situation she wasn't able to deal with. She also told me that she was sure Ike was a goner. I'll have to clear that up with her- if there ever comes a time when she feels in her professional opinion that it's best for any of my pets to be put down, I should be told about it, no need to beat around the bush. I think she feels like she let me down, which she didn't, and isn't important any way- Ike's health is.

Both the vets at the animal hospital said Ike's hip arthritis is the worst they've ever seen. I think he's still got at least another year left in him though.

He and I are both very happy that he's home. Thanks for all the support from every body; it really helped out.

Ok, this post? Totally was supposed to go to one of the comms I mod, [community profile] vintage_recipes http://outsdr.livejournal.com/59004.html#cutid1

And I have no idea how to delete the post. Oh well. Enjoy the recipes!
