Last night, I was going to write my retrospective of 2010. Tonight, I was going to write my hopes and plans for 2011.

But then, the annoying little cough I picked up on my vacation last weekend decided by Wednesday that it was going to become the chest cold from the deepest pits of hell.

I just woke up after sleeping for nearly 15 hours straight, and the absolute worst seems to be going ... there not nearly as many hack & gasp episodes of coughing (Where there's something deep in my lungs that has to come out, so I hack and cough until it works it's way up, using all my air in the process. Once THAT'S done, all I can do is gasp and hyperventilate until I have my air back.)

I'm also draining from the nose less, and my jawline and teeth roots aren't as achingly painful any more. At this rate, I should be just fine by Monday!

When the holiday is over and I get to return to work. Oh well.

Yes, now, have I ever told you all about the friend of mine at university (and this is a real friend, not an urban myth, I promise - his name is Simon) who misread the Benylin label? - He took two tablespoons instead of two teaspoons. He slept for exactly 24 hours more than he would normally sleep, so woke up having missed a day, and went to the wrong lectures and stuff. It was very funny, though also a bit eerie. But the point was, guys, HIS COUGH HAD GONE!!! But, for Health and Safety reasons, they have probably changed the formula since then.

Dear outsdr, you have my sympathies. Chest infections suck the big one. I wish you well. x
