Maybe the weirdest phone call I've received, ever. Just happened.
A gentlemen calls, gives his name (which I didn't catch) and says that he stayed at our hotel two weeks ago, and that he's looking for a man who was working at the font desk who was very helpful to him. Now, there are only two men who work at the front desk, the other being my roommate, and while he and I do share a resemblance, I'm significantly taller than him. The caller described me perfectly, including being tall. I told him that I believed I was the one he may be looking for.
He then said that if I was indeed who he was looking for, he would be back to our hotel in a few weeks, and had a proposition for me. A very lucrative proposition.
He said that he is a writer, and writer's like to act out scenes they are writing about. He had a scene he wanted to act out, and would pay well to do so.
He wants to slap me.
I'm trying not to crack up, and keep my "professional" voice.
He goes on to ask me about my build, how much I weigh, how short my hair is, have I ever worked construction, was I ever in the military, etc, etc...
"How big is your dick?"
"Excuse me?"
"How big is your neck?"
mmmhmm.
He goes on to tell me that there are "several other" people he may select from, and each one is bidding on how many slaps they can take. The highest one is up to 300 slaps. He asks me how many slaps I think I can take?
I tell him I don't know, I've never been slapped. He repeats, "You've never been slapped?"
"I'm not the kind of person that people seem to think it's a good idea to slap."
He asks me if I would be interested, it's very lucrative, a lot of money. I asked him how _much_ money.
"One thousand dollars."
(Yeah, ok, that IS a lot of money.)
He asks me to consider it, and if there's a number he can reach me at? I tell him that i don't give out my home number, but if he calls the hotel and leaves a message, I can always return his call.
He says thank you, and that he will call and leave a message for me tomorrow.
Weird.
But still .... $1,000... hmmm.
Nah.
ETA: I just realized, Andy wasn't even in town two weeks ago; there is no one else in the hotel that he could possibly be thinking of but me. I guess I'm flattered?
