Review: Left 4 Dead
Mar. 9th, 2009 10:04 am1> It plays like a console port. It looks like a console port. No pausing, only save points, stupid repetitive voicework, limited controls.
2> It's insanely short. There are four sections of the game. We've gone through three of them so far. Each one took one hour.
3> The game play is totally linear. I don't see any replayibility at all.
4> For all the game there is, it's over priced at $50.
5> The designs are limited. There's roughly four different zombies: Basic man, basic woman, military man, policeman.
Conclusion: Save your money.

Playing with friends makes it VERY re-playable. Of course, I bought the Steam version on sale, so it was an easier amount to swallow.
Plus: Free DLC coming, including new maps and new modes.
