Every year, I make the same resolution- to make the new year better than the last. This year, it's starting to feel a little weak. Maybe because this is the year I'm celebrating my 10th Annual 29th Birthday, so I feel I need something more substantial in addition to that catch-all standard. Since I like presenting solutions to problems, I'll spell out my game plan as well.

1- I will drink more water.

Time to stop drinking soda when I'm thirsty. Time to stop drinking so much coffee in the morning. How will I do this? I quit smoking cold turkey nearly two years ago; I think I'll do this the same way. In January, I will only drink water whenever possible.

2- I will eat less

I weigh 305. I want to weigh less. I want to do this as effortlessly as possible. Whenever I get something to eat, I will take half of what I instinctively feel I want to eat. If I'm still hungry an hour later, I'll find something to eat, and again, I'll take half of what I would normally. I'm hoping I can re-train my eyes-to-stomach ratio.

3- Santa Fe Blond

Five years ago, I started working on the graphic novel adaptation of this short story. I think it's time I finished it. Taking the sketch pad etc. and not taking the laptop with me one night I work at the hotel each weekend will force me to work on Santa Fe Blond.

4- I will save more money

I will deposit the paychecks from my second job straight to my savings account.

That is a really good idea; thanks for sharing it, because I am going to try it as well.

It just makes sense to me, and I don't know why I didn't think of it before. Frequently, I keep eating after I'm full, just because there's still food on my plate, and I was brought up with the clean-your-plate mentality.

Yea, that's my problem too exactly.

I try to stop offering you so much bacon :(

And if you feel you've slipped on one resolution here or there... just remember I've kinda made you have another one any way...

You have begun to recycle more... and that takes effort and is in no way bad!.

Hmm more salad - and not the mayonnaise type :P

No, that's ok- I'll just treat it the same way. I'll look at the bacon, think about how much I want, and then take half as much.

What is half of infinity, anyway?
