Dreamt up a story

outsdrHad a dream last night where I worked out the basic plot for a short story explaining Ianto's personality change between season 1 & season 2 of Torchwood.
And damn it, all I can remember is that it takes place while Jack is gone, and Ianto is polishing an alien artifact when he wishes things could be different, and is transported to a parallel dimension where life-altering events happen before he gets returned home.
I woke up with the outline of an entire _novel_ in my head, and now that's all I remember. Stupid dreams.
