CPAP clever headline here
Jul. 12th, 2012 08:07 pmSo, my CPAP starts at a gentle setting of 4 cmH20 (wtf?) and is set to go to 8. And when it wakes me up, I checked, and it was at 8. So, maybe I'm just able to stand it for awhile before I finally wake up enough to be bothered by it. Or, maybe it needs turned down. Or up. Or ... hell, I don't know.
One thing I did notice ... it has an altitude setting! And considering my friend lives in Thurmont, Maryland, which has an elevation of about 518 feet, that's almost 5,000 feet lower than I am.
So, I changed that setting. I'm going to try that first, and see how much of a difference it makes before I start fiddle-fooling around with anything else.

Date: 2012-07-13 05:36 pm (UTC)I'm getting discouraged, to be honest. If anything, last night was the worst night so far. I think I was awake every hour, either ripping the mask off or putting it back in hopes it would work. My sinuses were killing me this morning again, too. I'm beginning to think the little good I thought I was seeing from its use was just placebo. *sigh* I really want this to work!
When I first got it, my doctor said to just use the settings already plugged into it, because they're the same for 90% of the people that use them. I think it's time to call him and say one of the two people who have used this machine are not in that 90%.
