First off; congratulations to the woman for her will to live and for fighting her struggle. That is not what I have a problem with.

"Oh my God, it's a miracle," said Malloy."

It's a miracle that she was able to survive from the actual accident. It's a miracle that she's made the progress that she's made," said Ghiselli.

It's not a fucking miracle. It might have been a miracle if she hadn't had ANY MEDICAL TREATMENT and everything healed up good as new. What about giving some credit to... hmm... I don't know.... THE DOCTORS WHO WORKED THEIR ASSES OFF to save you. Or the rescue workers who pulled you out of the wreck.

Instead of crediting some mythological figure, why don't people fucking GROW UP and take credit for what they have accomplished and give credit where it's due?

Like George Carlin said: "Religion has convinced people that there’s an invisible man…living in the sky, who watches everything you do every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a list of ten specific things he doesn’t want you to do. And if you do any of these things, he will send you to a special place, of burning and fire and smoke and torture and anguish for you to live forever, and suffer and burn and scream until the end of time. But he loves you. He loves you and he needs money."

Stories like this start out by filling me with pride at being at the top of the evolutionary ladder on this planet, because of the amazing things that science and medicine can accomplish... and then statements like that make me feel like the ladder is greased by the drool of idiots and we're all slipping backwards.
