A long two years
Feb. 28th, 2009 11:30 pmTwo years ago, on this date, 2/28/06, I smoked my last cigarette.
The Pros:
I smell better.
My lungs & back don't hurt and ache like they used to do.
I don't cough any more. I don't miss the wet, nasty things that came out of me when I did.
Ike doesn't cough any more.
I don't spend $35 a week on cigarettes.
The cons:
I still get insanely irritable.
I put on 30-40 pounds when I quit that I have yet to lose again.
My sense of smell and taste never got "dramatically better! You can taste your food again!" Yeah, nothing changed.
My lung capacity never improved.
I no longer have a quick and easy way to deal with stress.
I still get cravings. Hardly a day goes by that I don't want to light up.
