Ugh part 2.

Last night, I was working on my computer, and started to get a little tired, so, guessing it must be close to my bed time of 10 p.m., headed off to bed ... it was actually midnight. Then, I didn't sleep until about 3:30 a.m. Strange.

Got up at 7, got ready for work. I knew I was going to be late, so I called in to let the office know, hung up the phone ... and suddenly got that queasy-nauseous-just-about-to-barf feeling. I've never experienced instant nausea like that. For about ten minutes I stood over our trash can in the kitchen, hyper ventilating and swallowing hard and doing everything I could NOT to throw up. Luckily, I managed to keep it down, and kinda stumbled off to work.

I'm really feeling terrible, but I have so much to do at the office, I really couldn't call in sick. But as I told my boss, if I had actually thrown up, I wouldn't have come in.

About an hour later, I'm half way through my first cup of coffee of the day, working on an ad, when the wave of nausea hits me AGAIN. I had time to turn my head from my computer and grab my trash can at the desk before I explosively vomited all of the coffee into the trash. Luckily, someone had been nice enough to change my bag the night before, so it was empty. Feeling a bit better, although now I had a completely empty stomach, I changed bags in the trash can, and went back to work. My boss remarked that I looked a little green, bt I told her that I was actually feeling a little better... but just in case, she should probably sort my work for me so that the most important things were on top for me to do.

Which was a good thing, because just over an hour later ... yep, once again. This time, I think I brought up last night's dinner somehow. It was loud, forceful, and by the time I was done my eyes were watering heavily and I was shaking badly. My boss walked right past me and got a clipboard of the wall right beside my puking self and then went right back to her phone call, lol. I figured she either somehow didn't notice, or was so focussed that it just didn't phase her to have me throwing up in the middle of the office (later, she told me she pointedly ignored me so she wouldn't get nauseated herself, which I understand!)

Jim the reporter ran up to me with a glass of water. I managed a weak "thanks". took a sip, and then heaved alittle. Finaly getting composed again, I switched trash bags out again, and while I was taking it to the dumpster outside, I asked my boss to re-prioritize my stack sothat the things on top were ads that absolutely had to be done today- because I was going to finish them, and go home. Which I did at 1 pm, luckily with no more episodes of vomiting.

I slept until 6 pm, although someone called long distance four times without leaving a message. Came up on caller ID as "Ontario". Thanks Canada, sorry to bother you with teh noise and and all, but I'm feeling a little better.

I did manage to go to the store and pick up some canned soup to eat, and some beef stew, without succumbing to nausea again. Ate about half a cupful of stew before I started feeling pukey...

Oh man- it just hit me.

I think I caught what my cat had, lol.
